Effective Evaluation Workshop
24th October 2018 at 6.30pm
St Botolph without-Aldgate and Holy, Trinity Minories, Aldgate High Street, London, EC3N 1AB
Leadership expert and author Ken Blanchard tells us ‘that feedback is the breakfast of champions’. If we want champions around us, as Toastmasters or in life, sooner or later, we will have to give feedback to other people to help them grow.
But what happens when that feedback falls on deaf ears? What if the receiver of your feedback is critical of the way it is given? What if the whole experience leaves you both feeling frustrated, demotivated, or angry?
You are not alone. A recent Harris Interactive poll, quoted in the Harvard Business Review, found that 69% of business managers are uncomfortable communicating with their employees in general and over 37% were fearful of giving feedback that might be construed as critical in any way.
At Toastmasters, we learn the importance of giving feedback through Evaluations but it is still one of the hardest roles to get right. Providing constructive feedback that motivates and leads to results is a real skill but it is a skill that can be learned.
On 24th October our speaker, Freddie Daniells, will bring his highly-acclaimed masterclass Exceptional Evaluations to PMI UK Toastmasters Club. In this interactive workshop, he will share valuable tips and techniques that can transform our Toastmasters evaluations. He will help us understand the right content for our evaluations, how to structure our evaluations and how to make our points most effectively. He will also share a few rare insights into what makes feedback successful in our broader lives.
Freddie has delivered this workshop over 160 times to over 4000 Toastmasters across Great Britain, Ireland, Spain, Nigeria and Germany.
